Second Nature is part of Lamington Group. We design and operate hometels, combining practicality with feeling. We recognise the importance of being properly looked after, with a team that pays attention to what guests actually need.
We are looking for people who care about their work and the people around them.
THE ROLE
You are a Host at Second Nature, the first face and warm welcome every guest sees upon arrival. You set the tone for their entire stay, greeting guests with genuine warmth, handling their needs with calm professionalism, and connecting them to what they need. You take pride in hospitality, noticing what guests need before they ask, remembering their preferences, and going beyond the expected to make them feel at home.
Your work is visible and important, directly shaping how guests feel about Second Nature. You represent our values with every interaction, being reliable, friendly, and genuinely interested in making people's stays special.
WHO YOU ARE
We hire based on five values:
- Use Instinct. You read what's needed and act on it.
- Own It. You finish what you start and are honest about what works and what doesn't.
- Include All. You build trust quickly with guests, colleagues, and partners.
- Stay Curious. You keep learning and would rather know how something works than fake it.
- Think Big. You spot patterns and bring better ideas.
We don’t hire for years of hotel experience; we can teach the systems but not how to read a room.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
On a good day, you might:
- Welcome guests at check-in and check-out, learn names, answer questions, and make people feel at home.
- Keep guest conversations moving, reply quickly to messages, and share local knowledge.
- Spot needs before guests ask and handle concerns calmly.
- Keep the team informed about special requests and feedback.
- Ensure the front desk runs smoothly and the space feels welcoming.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
Experience that fits the role:
- 1+ years in hospitality, customer service, or another guest-facing role.
- Experience in a hotel, guesthouse, or similar environment.
- A proven ability to create positive guest experiences.
- Comfortable with everyday admin tasks and keeping guest information organised.
- Warm, friendly, and a strong listener.
- Calm under pressure and proactive by nature.
- Experience with PMS systems and guest messaging tools.
WHY YOU'LL LOVE WORKING HERE
You’ll work alongside supportive leaders, receive structured onboarding and hands-on training, and have opportunities for growth. We offer additional annual leave, company benefits, and a competitive benefits package.
