At Rawlence & Browne, we're looking for an experienced Accounts Assistant / Bookkeeper to join our growing practice. We're a modern, independent firm of accountants who believe that great client service starts with a happy team. What you'll be doing
- Your work will include a mixture of bookkeeping and accounts support for a wide range of small businesses, including:
- Bookkeeping using cloud accounting software (primarily Xero)
- Preparing and submitting VAT Returns
- Bank reconciliations
- Purchase and sales ledger processing
- Assisting with the preparation of year-end accounts and tax returns
- Liaising directly with clients by telephone and email
- Helping clients with bookkeeping queries
- General practice administration as required
No two days are the same, so you'll enjoy a varied workload and the opportunity to develop your skills.
What we're looking for
- Has at least 2 years' experience working in an accountancy practice
- Is confident preparing bookkeeping records and VAT Returns
- Can prepare accounts and tax returns for limited companies
- Has experience using cloud accounting software (Xero experience would be an advantage)
- Has excellent attention to detail
- Is reliable, organised and able to manage their own workload
- Enjoys speaking with clients and providing excellent customer service
- Works well as part of a friendly team
- Has a positive attitude and is keen to learn
