Job Description Field Service Engineer (Automotive / Mechanical)£40,000 - £44,000 + Overtime + Door-to-Door Pay + Bonus + Full Training + Company Vehicle + Fuel Card Reading Are you an Automotive Technician, Vehicle Mechanic, or Service Engineer with strong mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic skills, looking to move into a field-based role with excellent earning potential and full specialist training?On offer is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing materials handling company that will provide you with a comprehensive two-week in-house forklift training programme , giving you all the knowledge and practical experience needed to become a successful Field Service Engineer.

Whether your background is automotive, commercial vehicles, HGVs, agricultural machinery, plant equipment, or another engineering discipline, you'll receive ongoing support and development to build a long-term career.

You'll work across a local patch, servicing and repairing forklifts and materials handling equipment, with door-to-door pay, plenty of overtime opportunities, and a strong focus on first-time fixes and customer satisfaction.

Due to continued expansion, the company is looking to recruit motivated engineers to support customers across Reading, Slough, and the wider M4 corridor.

This role would suit an Automotive Technician, Vehicle Mechanic, or Service Engineer looking to move away from the workshop into a rewarding field-based position with excellent training, career progression, and earning potential.

The Role Complete a comprehensive two-week in-house forklift training programme before working independently.

Service, maintain, and repair forklifts and materials handling equipment.

Diagnose faults across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and electronic systems.

Attend customer breakdowns and carry out planned preventative maintenance.

Deliver excellent customer service while ensuring equipment downtime is kept to a minimum.

The Person Experience as an Automotive Technician, Vehicle Mechanic, Plant Engineer, HGV Technician, Agricultural Engineer, or similar engineering background.

Good mechanical, electrical, and/or hydraulic fault-finding skills.

Keen to learn a new industry through structured training.

Full UK driving licence.

Based around Reading, Slough, Maidenhead, or the surrounding areas.
