<p><b>RACE ENGINEER</b></p> <p><b>Job Title: Race Engineer<br> Company: Lola Yamaha ABT Formula E Team<br> Location: Kempten, Germany (with extensive travel to race/test events)<br> Contract Type: Full-time<br> Sector: Race Team, Engineering<br> Discipline: Race Engineering<br> Experience Level: 3+ years<br> Education Level: Degree<br> Start Date: As soon as possible</b></p> <p><b>Job Description</b></p> <p>The Lola Yamaha ABT Formula E Team competes in the FIA Formula E World Championship, uniting Lola Cars legendary motorsport heritage, Yamaha’s cutting-edge technology, and the racing expertise of ABT Sportsline.</p> <p>We are currently looking for a Race Engineer to lead the technical and strategic direction of one of our cars. This is a key role for an experienced motorsport engineer who thrives on pressure, precision, and performance—ideally with a background in Formula E, WEC, LMDh, IndyCar or Formula 2.</p> <p><b>Key Responsibilities</b></p> <ul><li> <p>Act as the lead engineer responsible for all technical and strategic aspects of one car.</p> </li> <li> <p>Define setup based on data analysis, simulation results, and input from the performance group.</p> </li> <li> <p>Drive mid-event decision-making with targeted analysis of setup, driver feedback, and competitor data.</p> </li> <li> <p>Lead the simulator/simulation correlation effort through detailed analysis and recommendations.</p> </li> <li> <p>Manage communication and coordination across the car crew, including mechanics and dedicated performance/system engineers.</p> </li> <li> <p>Take shared responsibility for car legality with the team’s Technical Coordinator.</p> </li> <li> <p>Plan, organize, and execute simulator and on-track test events.</p> </li> </ul><p><b>Candidate Profile</b></p> <p><b>Required:</b></p> <ul><li> <p>At least 3 years of experience as a Race Engineer in top-level motorsport.</p> </li> <li> <p>In-depth understanding of vehicle dynamics and high-performance engineering.</p> </li> <li> <p>Exceptional communication and leadership skills under high-pressure environments.</p> </li> <li> <p>Strong analytical capabilities and attention to detail.</p> </li> <li> <p>Proficient in motorsport data tools (preferably ATLAS).</p> </li> <li> <p>Familiarity with simulation platforms such as Canopy.</p> </li> </ul><p><b>Nice to Have:</b></p> <ul><li> <p>Programming skills (Python, MATLAB, VBA) for tool development and performance analysis.</p> </li> <li> <p>Formula E experience and/or knowledge of energy management strategies.</p> </li> </ul><p><b>Education & Background</b></p> <ul><li> <p>Degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Electrical, or Motorsport Engineering or related field.</p> </li> <li> <p>Proactive, self-driven, and team-oriented.</p> </li> <li> <p>Ability to communicate technical information clearly across departments.</p> </li> </ul><p><b>What We Offer</b></p> <ul><li> <p>A dynamic and competitive working environment in one of the world’s most innovative racing series.</p> </li> <li> <p>A key role in shaping the performance of a front-running Formula E team.</p> </li> <li> <p>International travel and the opportunity to work with world-class talent and technology.</p> </li> </ul>
