About the Role
City College Norwich is looking for a committed and enthusiastic Learning Supervisor to support students within our Engineering, Automotive and Building Services department. This is a rewarding opportunity to play a key role in students' learning by leading workshop sessions, supporting skill development, and helping learners achieve their full potential in a practical and inclusive environment.
What You'll Do
- Lead and supervise workshop-based learning sessions for students
- Provide one-to-one and group support to help students understand and complete their work
- Support students in developing practical skills, independent learning, and study techniques
- Assist students with research, problem-solving, and accessing learning materials
- Work closely with teaching staff to ensure sessions align with course delivery
- Supervise controlled assessments in line with awarding body requirements
- Organise and develop learning and research resources
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and submitted work
- Contribute to quality improvement across the College
- Deliver engaging activities and arrange talks to enhance learning
What We're Looking For
Essential
- Level 2 English and Maths (or willingness to achieve within 12 months)
- Experience working with young people aged 14–19
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to support and motivate learners from diverse backgrounds
- Good IT skills (Microsoft Office, databases, etc.)
- Commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing
- Team player with a flexible and proactive approach
Desirable
- Level 4 qualification (e.g. degree or youth work qualification)
- Understanding of curriculum content within the department
- Experience supporting learning or working in education
