We are seeking an experienced AWS API Technical Architect to design and deliver secure, scalable, and highly integrated API and microservices solutions across a complex enterprise environment. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in API architecture, cloud-native engineering, and distributed systems design. Candidates from both hands-on engineering and architecture-focused backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Design serverless and microservices-based API architectures within AWS
- Define and implement RESTful API standards, patterns, and best practices
- Support system and data integration across distributed applications and services
- Identify and remediate technical debt with pragmatic modernisation approaches
- Collaborate with product and delivery teams to align technical solutions with business roadmaps
- Support deployment planning, cutover activities, and post-go-live stabilisation
- Work closely with cybersecurity and engineering teams to ensure secure, observable, and resilient solutions
- Design secure integrations with identity providers and access management solutions
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong experience designing API and microservices architectures
- Deep understanding of AWS cloud-native services and serverless design
- Experience with RESTful APIs and distributed systems integration
- Knowledge of security best practices for cloud and API solutions
- Experience working within Agile delivery environments
- Strong stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills
