Location: London (Hybrid – minimum 2 days in office) Contract Length: Until September 2026 (Maternity Cover) Rate: £210/day PAYE | £405/day via Umbrella About the Role A leading financial institution is seeking an Assistant Vice President to join their Agency Middle Office as part of the Loan Agency function . This is not a loan administration/back-office role—it is front-to-middle office focused, requiring direct engagement with lenders and borrowers, oversight of complex syndicated loan portfolios, and a deep understanding of Loan IQ . You will act as the primary point of contact on a portfolio of various syndicated deals , serving as a conduit between borrowers and lenders across high-value structured and project finance transactions. The portfolio spans sectors such as oil & gas, shipping, aircraft finance, and infrastructure , and includes roles as Facility Agent , Security Trustee , and Account Bank . This is a hands-on, dynamic position suited to someone with a Loan Agency background , strong communication skills, and the ability to read and interpret LMA documentation and legal agreements. Youll attend meetings, participate in site visits, handle amendments/waivers, and provide key insights that lenders would typically look for in facility documents—beyond just margins and interest periods. Key Responsibilities Act as main point of contact for all agency functions on your assigned portfolio of syndicated deals Manage lender and borrower relationships with regular communications, calls, meetings, and on-site visits Review and interpret facility agreements and related documents with a focus on lender-specific requirements Process amendments and waivers, facilitate lender consent, and coordinate execution of changes Build and amend deals within Loan IQ , including deal structures, customer profiles, and documentation Coordinate with internal stakeholders (legal, risk, ops) and external counsel Ensure accuracy of static data, deal records, and reporting in Loan IQ Support broader team initiatives to improve processes and system functionality Participate in informal team meetings and stakeholder updates to align on deal strategy and execution Required Skills & Experience Proven Loan Agency experience in a middle or front office capacity Hands-on knowledge of Loan IQ – building and amending syndicated loan deals Experience working on syndicated loans (not bilateral), with a portfolio management focus Strong understanding of LMA documentation , amendments, waivers, and loan lifecycle events Background in project finance or structured finance agency roles preferred Strong relationship management and communication skills – comfortable speaking with customers and lenders Experience liaising with internal/external counsel and participating in site visits or client meetings Familiarity with LIBOR transition , conventions , and facility agreement mechanics This is an excellent opportunity for someone ready to step into a hands-on AVP role with full portfolio ownership, autonomy, and exposure to sophisticated structured loan transactions in a globally recognised institution.
