About the role: We are seeking an organised and proactive Transport Coordinator to join our busy logistics operation. This is a fast-paced role where you will play a key part in ensuring the smooth planning, coordination, and delivery of transport activities across our fleet and third-party providers. You will work closely with internal teams to ensure deliveries are completed on time and in full, while maintaining compliance with all transport regulations.
Key responsibilities:
- Plan and execute daily and weekly transport schedules for company vehicles and third-party logistics providers
- Collaborate with Transport and Operations teams to ensure plans are achievable and efficient
- Liaise with Sales teams to ensure timely and accurate deliveries
- Track vehicle movements using transport software and report delays or issues
- Communicate progress updates on collections and deliveries to internal stakeholders
- Manage delivery documentation, ensuring accuracy and timely return of signed paperwork
- Conduct driver briefings and debriefings at the start and end of shifts
- Maintain accurate records using ERP systems
- Ensure compliance with driver hours regulations and tachograph requirements
- Monitor vehicle maintenance schedules and report defects
- Support yard operations, including trailer preparation and shunting
- Respond quickly to operational challenges and resolve issues as they arise
What we're looking for:
- Previous experience as a Transport Coordinator or in a similar role
- Valid HGV Class 1 licence (however experience is not essential)
- Strong understanding of transport logistics and supply chain operations
- Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Confident communicator with the ability to work collaboratively
- Experience using ERP systems (preferred)
- Ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines
