We are currently recruiting for an experienced EU Road Freight Product Manager / Freight Forwarder to join a growing logistics and freight forwarding business. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced transport and logistics professional with a strong background in UK domestic and European road freight operations, freight forwarding, haulage coordination, carrier management, and customer solutions.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day freight operations, developing transport solutions, negotiating rates with hauliers, supporting new business opportunities, and maintaining strong relationships with customers and transport partners.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage UK domestic and European road freight operations from booking through to delivery.
  • Arrange and coordinate transport solutions including FTL (Full Truck Load) and LTL (Less Than Truck Load) movements.
  • Source and negotiate competitive transport rates with haulage partners and subcontractors.
  • Manage carrier relationships and support the onboarding of new transport partners.
  • Coordinate customer shipments, ensuring deliveries are completed on time and within agreed service levels.
  • Provide accurate transport quotations to existing and potential new customers.
  • Work closely with customers to understand requirements and provide efficient freight solutions.
  • Manage transport documentation including delivery paperwork, PODs, and operational records.
  • Monitor shipment milestones and update internal freight management systems.
  • Process transport invoices and ensure accuracy against agreed rates.
  • Investigate delivery issues, complete root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
  • Support continuous improvement across transport operations and customer service processes.
  • Develop and maintain operational procedures and SOPs.
  • Produce internal and customer KPI reports.
Experience Required:
  • Previous experience within freight forwarding, logistics, transport operations, or 3PL environments.
  • Strong knowledge of UK domestic and European road freight operations.
  • Experience managing transport bookings, hauliers, carriers, and customer deliveries.
  • Experience negotiating transport rates and managing supplier relationships.
  • Knowledge of FTL, LTL, groupage, pallet network, and dedicated transport solutions.
  • Strong understanding of transport planning and freight coordination.
  • Experience using freight management systems; Cargowise experience would be highly advantageous.
  • Good understanding of import/export processes and customs documentation would be desirable.
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office applications.
