Care Home Assistant Practitioner CHAP Care and Support – Colinton Care Home Contract: Full Time Salary: £13.67 Per Hour Shift Type: Days Contracted hours: 39.5 Colinton Care Home is located in Edinburgh’s desirable Merchiston area, offering nursing, respite, palliative, and dementia care to up to 53 residents in a warm, purpose-built environment.Where every shift brings leadership, compassion, and a deeper sense of purpose.As a Care Home Assistant Practitioner (CHAP), you’ll take on a leadership role at the heart of our care team. This is more than supporting with daily routines — you will guide others, promote best practice, and ensure every resident receives care rooted in dignity, respect, and individual needs. What We Offer £13.67 per hour 1 x 45 hours | 3 x 39.5 hours contracts Flexible shift patterns available (to be discussed at interview) Paid PVG Pension scheme Free uniform Free onsite parking 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on full-time hours) What You Will Do Lead and coordinate your shift, ensuring a consistent standard of high-quality care Support with medication administration, care plans, and clinical record keeping Provide hands-on personal care and emotional support to residents Mentor junior staff and support their development Foster strong relationships with residents, families, and colleagues What We’re Looking For SVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or working towards) Experience working in a care setting (minimum one year preferred) Confidence leading a shift and delegating tasks effectively A commitment to delivering person-centred care with compassion Strong communication skills and a team-focused approach About You You are calm under pressure, lead by example, and always act with kindness and integrity.
