We’re recruiting on behalf of a leading Edinburgh law firm looking to add a Billing Assistant to its finance team. This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in legal billing or professional services finance to step into a busy, collaborative role within a respected firm. You’ll play a key part in supporting the billing and revenue function - ensuring client matters are billed promptly and accurately while working closely with fee earners and business support teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- End-to-end billing: drafting, editing, and finalising invoices
- Liaising with fee earners to ensure timely billing
- Processing time transfers, write-offs, and disbursements
- Managing billing inbox and internal queries
- Supporting finance and credit control teams
- Assisting with ad hoc finance tasks and month-end reporting
You’ll Need:
- Previous experience in a billing or finance role (legal or professional services)
- Strong attention to detail and excellent numeracy skills
- Familiarity with billing software (e.g. Aderant, Elite, or similar)
