We have an egg-cellent new opportunity to join The Compleat Food Group as an NPD Manager based in Barnsley! You will be responsible for product development at site for new and existing products, ensuring the development process is followed effectively.

Location: Barnsley, S73 0BB. Our Barnsley site specialises in added-value egg products, chilled food-to-go snacks, and deli fillers!

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm

Salary: £50,000 car allowance

Your Duties Will Include:

  • Responsible for total account NPD and EPD from initial concept to final production responding to customer requirements or development briefs.
  • Use development expertise to produce innovative and practical new product ideas, ensuring that all commercial, technical and production criteria are considered.
  • Work closely with marketing and commercial teams to develop products in line with category strategy.
  • Generate and monitor the critical path to launch for projects.
  • Support recipe development alongside Development Chefs.
  • Sourcing of new raw materials in conjunction with the purchasing and technical teams to ensure viability.
  • Generation of initial product development costings.
  • Attend internal gate review meetings.
  • Customer presentations including sample and document preparation.
  • Carry out pre-launch factory briefings and co-ordinate first production with Senior Process Technologist.
  • Co-ordinate post launch reviews.

Knowledge, Experience and Skills:

  • Strong NPD experience in food manufacturing (chilled food desirable).
  • Strong customer facing experience working for or with UK retailers.
  • Able to demonstrate record of delivering new products to the market.
  • Understanding of UK and European food regulation and legislation.
  • Food Safety Level 3 & HACCP Level 3.
  • Good IT skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong organisational, project management and problem-solving skills with the ability to generate innovative, pragmatic solutions, including the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Genuine passion for food with strong work ethic and professionalism.
