Compass Associates are proud to be working exclusively in partnership with an emerging, innovative care provider to recruit a Home Manager for a brand-new, purpose-built luxury care home in Bowdon. This is a commissioning role, offering the opportunity to lead a 51-bed service, primarily focused on self-funding residents, delivering high-quality residential and dementia care with a strong lifestyle-led approach. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role not only in opening the home, but in shaping the culture, systems, and future direction of the organisation as it scales.
You will be responsible for leading the home from pre-opening through to full occupancy, with a strong emphasis on community engagement, marketing, and commercial performance, alongside maintaining exceptional care standards.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the commissioning and opening of a new luxury care home
- Take full responsibility for day-to-day operational management
- Drive occupancy through marketing, networking, and community engagement
- Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing care and leadership team
- Oversee CQC registration, compliance, and governance frameworks
- Implement systems, processes, and operational structures from inception
- Manage relationships with external partners, including technology and service providers
- Ensure delivery of a premium, person-centred care experience
- Balance commercial performance with quality outcomes
To be considered for this position, you will have:
- Registered Nurse (RGN/RMN) qualification - desirable not essential.
- Proven experience as a Registered Home Manager within elderly care
- Strong understanding of the self-funding/private pay market
- Demonstrable commercial awareness with the ability to drive occupancy
- Experience in community engagement and building referral pipelines
- A track record of leading teams and delivering high-quality care standards
Desirable experience includes:
- Commissioning or opening new services
- Exposure to luxury or premium care environments
- Dementia care expertise
- Experience with digital care systems and technology-led environments
You will be a hands-on, visible leader, comfortable working autonomously, particularly during the commissioning phase, and able to respond flexibly to the demands of launching a new service.
The PackageSalary up to £80,000 (typically £70,000–£75,000)

This role is based in Bowdon, Greater Manchester, and is commutable from: Altrincham, Hale, Sale, Wilmslow, Knutsford, Stockport, Manchester and surrounding areas. Candidates should ideally be within 1–1.5 hours commute and able to travel flexibly due to commissioning requirements.
