Under the supervision of the Maintenance/Utilities Engineer, you’ll maintain the machinery and equipment of the molding and assembly department in operating conditions according to the manufacturer’s instructions and following the company’s procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for executing preventive and predictive maintenance tasks.
- Responsible for the operation of the primary equipment of the plant (chillers, dryers, compressors, cooling towers, HVAC, general lighting, pumping system).
- Responsible for filling out forms related to maintenance activities such as preventive, predictive, or corrective maintenance.
- Keep material and work tools in order (5S).
- Responsible for the movements and installation of machinery.
- Responsible for corrective maintenance tasks on the equipment.
- Responsible for the application of order and cleanliness in the department (5S).
- Ability to develop and implement continuous improvement through the Kaizen methodology using PPI tools.
- Disassembles mechanical devices such as resin screws, barrels, cylinders, valves, pumps, and gearboxes to remove defective parts and make lasting repairs.
- Uses hoists, cranes, hand tools, power tools, and occasionally fabricated fixtures.
- Reassembles mechanical devices and installs new parts.
- Sets up and operates drill presses, grinders, welders, mills, lathes, and other metal working tools to fabricate and repair parts.
- Must have personal hand tools and toolbox.
- Follow and work following the Safety and Environment rules.
- Provide support within all areas.
- Participate in training sessions on environmental matters.
- Carry out tasks respecting the controls for environmental care and employee integrity.
- Maintain in optimal operating conditions the equipment for environmental operational control and/or that affect the environmental performance of the Environmental Management System.
- Participate in weekly talks on environment and safety.
- Participate in environmental training sessions.
- Identify and report relevant Hazard IDs.
- Participate in the 4 Disciplines of Execution.
- Participate in PPI activities.
Authorities:
- Apply the LOTO procedure.
- Electrical panel access for review.
- Access to restricted areas such as substations, pump rooms, patios, and rooftops.
- Apply for non-routine jobs.
- Point out and report any violation of the dress code within the facilities.
- Report activities that affect the environment (when applicable).
- Establish and exercise controls for significant environmental aspects of the operations under their responsibility.
- Execute the pertinent corrective measures for activities that affect the environment when the expected results of the Environmental Management System are not achieved.
- Open Hazard IDs in terms of environment and safety and take the necessary and appropriate measures for their resolution.
Requirements for the position:
Education: Preferably preparatory completed (desirable) and/or Preferably a technical career in a related area such as mechanical electrical / Electromechanical technician.
Experience: Preferably 3+ years of experience in maintenance to IMM and or plastic industry equipment or equivalent.
Knowledge: Good knowledge of equipment and work tools (multimeter, megohmmeter, ammeter). Solid knowledge of mechanics, electronics, and robotics (desirable). Able to interpret mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic diagrams (USA and EU).
Skills/Competencies: Analytical Skill, Communication, Decision making, Leadership, Negotiation Skills, Results Orientation, Teamwork, Safety, Ethics, Technological Tool.
Position deliverables KPIs: Work orders (corrective maintenance), 4Dx Dashboard, Preventive maintenance report, Documentation without filling errors.
