Overview
Applications are invited for the Senior HR Coordinator (Maternity Cover) for the Cambridge Stem Cell Institute and Department of Haematology. This is a fixed term role to cover maternity leave and is available from December 2025. The post is for up to 1 year. Hybrid working is available and discussion of part-time appointment is welcome. Applications are welcome from internal candidates seeking a secondment.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive HR support as part of a joint professional services team for the Cambridge Stem Cell Institute (CSCI) and the Department of Haematology.
- Line manage a small team of 2 HR Coordinators and a Business Apprentice.
- Review new HR advice and guidance, understand its impact on local procedures, and implement changes as required.
- Maintain excellent communication and interpersonal relationships with a wide range of colleagues.
- Handle highly confidential information, work quickly, methodically and accurately, and manage multiple deadlines with attention to detail.
Qualifications
- Experience working administratively in HR; ability to demonstrate both factual and theoretical knowledge of HR administration, and to work with multiple processes and tight regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to build and maintain relationships.
- Self-motivated, trustworthy, adaptable, and able to work under pressure with strong problem-solving skills.
- Competent in Microsoft Office; experience with specialist HR systems and other business software is advantageous.
- Education at HND/HNC level, level 4/5 vocational qualification, or an equivalent level of practical experience.
