Overview

Are you looking for a full-time role within a small dynamic team? The Cavendish Laboratory (Department of Physics) has an exciting opportunity for a Safety Coordinator to join our passionate and dedicated community. Working as part of the Department’s Safety team, the roleholder will provide welcoming, friendly and professional safety support to all users of the Department. We have moved into the Ray Dolby Centre, a state-of-the-art facility, and are seeking a highly motivated individual with a positive attitude towards change and development to join us. The Department is home to over 2000 staff, students and visitors across a large range of disciplines and categories, where delivery of world-leading research and teaching requires exemplary safety advice and expertise to support the new Estate.

Responsibilities

  • Operate safety systems and develop processes to support the Department safety management system (SMS) to ensure site and building safety and timely emergency or first aid response.

Qualifications

  • Has previous experience working in a health and safety setting.
  • Is able to communicate effectively and interact positively with staff, academics, students and visitors, with a confident approach and positive attitude.
  • Can manage their time to complete tasks and use initiative to prioritise when necessary.
