We are seeking an experienced QAE Engineer / Senior Test Manager to join the Move Programme team, playing a key role in shaping and delivering the testing strategy across our Automated Warehouse programme. This role will focus on defining and implementing a robust end-to-end testing strategy across a complex ecosystem with multiple interdependent systems and teams. The successful candidate will ensure quality across programme delivery while driving improvements in our testing maturity. A key part of the role will be leading the transition from manual testing toward a scalable automated testing approach across the wider Move portfolio. You will also manage and guide a small team of 3–4 offshore QA engineers, ensuring alignment with programme priorities and quality standards.

Please note: this is an initial six month contract that sits outside IR35. The role requires you to work onsite in Paddington, London, 3 days a week.

Key Responsibilities
  • Testing Strategy & Governance: Define and implement the end-to-end testing strategy across the Automated Warehouse programme. Ensure effective testing coverage across multiple systems, integrations, and interdependent teams. Establish and maintain testing standards, governance, and best practices across the programme.
  • Quality Assurance Leadership: Provide leadership and direction to 3–4 offshore QA engineers, ensuring delivery of high-quality testing outputs. Coordinate testing activities across multiple delivery teams to ensure alignment with programme timelines. Act as the central point of accountability for testing quality within the Move programme.
  • Automation Strategy: Drive the automation-first testing strategy across the Move portfolio. Identify opportunities to replace manual testing with automated approaches to improve efficiency, scalability, and reliability. Work with engineering teams to embed automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and development workflows.
  • Programme Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, product, programme, and delivery teams to ensure testing is integrated into delivery plans. Manage testing dependencies across the programme to minimise risk and avoid delivery bottlenecks. Provide clear reporting on testing progress, risks, and quality metrics to programme stakeholders.
  • Continuous Improvement: Champion modern QA practices, tooling, and processes. Introduce improvements that enhance testing efficiency, coverage, and speed of delivery. Promote a quality-first mindset across the Move programme.

Extensive experience in QA Engineering, Test Management, or Quality Engineering leadership roles. Proven experience designing and implementing testing strategies across complex programmes involving multiple systems and teams. Strong experience with test automation frameworks and automation strategy. Experience leading or coordinating offshore QA teams. Experience working in large-scale transformation or technology programmes. Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to work across engineering, product, and programme teams. Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines. Excellent communication and leadership skills.
