Job Description
Our client are on a mission to mobilize and connect talent to impact, providing executive search and youth employment programming across Africa, India, and 20+ countries globally. They believe in the power of great teams to change the world, and have a significant focus on working with employers across the social impact and philanthropic sector, including dozens of leading social enterprises, NGOs, and foundations. They are growing quickly in India and across Africa, and they are expanding their team of Associate Partners and Partners, who drive the execution of executive searches across Africa, Asia, and beyond.
Location:
They are a remote-first company so one could work from home or anywhere else you like. They are looking for talent based in Kenya, Nigeria, Egypt, South Africa and Mauritius but you could also be based in Europe, the UK and North America.
What you will do:
As an Associate Partner or Partner, you will be responsible for understanding client requirements and identifying great candidates that match these requirements. You'll build positive relationships with existing clients and develop strategies to bring more business as well. You’ll engage with terrific professionals to gauge their interest in opportunities, evaluate their fit for roles, and keep
them excited about the opportunities throughout the process. And you will gain global exposure to the team and solve critical business problems at the intersection of psychology, organisation design, impact, and strategy.
Key responsibilities:
1. Business Development:
Develop and engage a pipeline of prospective clients with growing Exec Search recruitment needs. You’ll use your networks, referral sources, participation at events, research, and other creative methods to build a “trusted advisor” relationship with clients and ensure Shortlist is their
first call when they need to grow their senior teams.
2. Search Execution:
With support from a team of recruiters, you’ll work directly to understand client needs, develop research-driven “market maps” of high potential candidates, engage and screen the most promising ones, and present them to our clients.
3. Client Management:
Engage and manage existing client relationships, including advising as to organization structure and role scoping, understanding their future hiring needs, monitoring the performance of placed candidates, and generally ensuring outstanding client experiences.
4. Thought Leadership:
Support the development of research reports and author articles on key trends affecting leadership hiring across emerging markets.
5. Team Leadership:
Help unlock the professional potential of our team by helping hire superstars, leading by example, living our values, and help make them an incredible place to work and build a career.
What you will bring:
- A strong relationship builder who is deeply curious and loves to learn, with a deep network within the business community in Africa ideally or in Europe / US in the international development area.
- Exposure to a broad range of business contexts and role types that would fuel your ability to offer textured guidance to clients on how to shape roles, identify likely talent pools, and make trade-offs in candidate recommendations.
- Experience of both business development and delivering Exec Searches
- Significant experience with hiring and talent issues (ideally as a search consultant) but could also be in strategy/management consultancy
