They have a fast-paced entrepreneurial culture and foster rapid decision making. We have deliberately moved away from the traditional rainmaker model, building instead a commercial marketing-driven business. Stellar growth is set to continue both organically and via the acquisition of very highly regarded competitor brands in the UK. They have also recently opened a Milan office as an international proof of concept with the intention of expanding into approximately 12 other countries over the coming 4 to 5 years. This is likely to be via a mix of fully owned law firms, part-owned law firms, and partnerships with third-party owned law firms. The firm is also preparing for potential external capital investment within 12 to 18 months, with a view to expanding its revenues five-fold over the coming 4 to 5 years.

This is a rare opportunity to join the firm in a senior, cross-functional role at a pivotal moment in the firm’s growth. Reporting directly to the CEO, the Chief of Staff will be responsible for driving the firm’s most ambitious strategic projects, operating at the intersection of leadership, execution, and commercial transformation.

They are looking for someone who combines the analytical rigour of a top-tier consultancy background with the adaptability and commercial instinct to operate effectively in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment. The right candidate will be equally comfortable shaping strategy at a senior level and rolling up their sleeves to drive delivery in the detail.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and deliver strategic initiatives across the firm, including those relating to domestic and international expansion, M&A activity, preparation for external capital investment, and the integration of AI into legal delivery and business operations.
  • Act as a senior point of coordination across functions, ensuring that priorities set at leadership level are translated into clear plans and executed effectively.
  • Work closely with the Strategy team to ensure analytical workstreams are aligned to the firm’s commercial priorities and that outputs are actionable at leadership level.
  • Contribute to the firm’s growth agenda through rigorous problem-solving, structured thinking, and sound commercial judgement.
  • Prepare high-quality outputs for the CEO and senior leadership, including strategic analyses, board-level materials, and executive briefings.
  • Manage relationships with key external stakeholders on behalf of the CEO where appropriate.
  • Identify and resolve operational and strategic blockers that sit across functions and would otherwise require CEO involvement.
Qualifications:
  • Experience including a strong track record at a top-tier management consultancy (MBB / Oliver Wyman).
  • Demonstrable experience leading complex, cross-functional projects from inception through to delivery.
  • Exposure to M&A, transformation, or growth strategy work is highly desirable.
  • Degree-level education from a leading university.
  • International experience desirable.
Personal attributes:
  • Adaptable and intellectually curious, comfortable operating across a wide range of subjects and workstreams.
  • Driven and tenacious, with a high tolerance for ambiguity - someone who rolls their sleeves up and gets things done, navigating any blockers.
  • Exceptional leadership presence; able to influence and align stakeholders at all levels without formal authority.
  • Strong strategic instinct balanced with an ability to operate in the detail.
  • Collaborative by nature, with the emotional intelligence to build trust quickly across a diverse team.
  • Sound commercial judgement and the confidence to challenge thinking constructively.
