Our client is a specialist law firm focusing on HNW family law, deploying bespoke strategic solutions to make the law work for our clients in some of the most substantial and complex matters in the field. We have deliberately moved away from the traditional rainmaker model, building instead a commercial marketing-driven business. Stellar growth is set to continue both organically and via the acquisition of very highly regarded competitor brands in the UK. They have also recently opened a Milan office as an international proof of concept with the intention of expanding.
The Chief of Staff will be responsible for driving the firm’s most ambitious strategic projects, operating at the intersection of leadership, execution, and commercial transformation. They are looking for someone who combines the analytical rigour of a top-tier consultancy background with the adaptability and commercial instinct to operate effectively in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment.
- Lead and deliver strategic initiatives across the firm, including those relating to domestic and international expansion, M&A activity, preparation for external capital investment, and the integration of AI into legal delivery and business operations.
- Work closely with the Strategy team to ensure analytical workstreams are aligned to the firm’s commercial priorities and that outputs are actionable at leadership level.
- Contribute to the firm’s growth agenda through rigorous problem-solving, structured thinking, and sound commercial judgement.
- Prepare high-quality outputs for the CEO and senior leadership, including strategic analyses, board-level materials, and executive briefings.
- Manage relationships with key external stakeholders on behalf of the CEO where appropriate.
- Identify and resolve operational and strategic blockers that sit across functions and would otherwise require CEO involvement.
Experience required includes a strong track record at a top-tier management consultancy (MBB / Oliver Wyman), and in addition to having this top-tier strategy consulting experience, you should also have some experience of working in an 'operator' role at a corporate or scale-up, e.g., as Strategy Manager, Chief of Staff, etc. Demonstrable experience leading complex, cross-functional projects from inception through to delivery is essential. Exposure to M&A, transformation, or growth strategy work is highly desirable. The ideal candidate will be collaborative by nature, with the emotional intelligence to build trust quickly across a diverse team, sound commercial judgement, and the confidence to challenge thinking constructively.
