Our client is a well-established Gold Coast advisory and accounting firm with offices in Southport and Coolangatta. Backed by a broader national network, they provide services to state, national and multi-national businesses as well as individual clients, with capabilities spanning accounting, taxation, advisory, wealth, IT and support services. The firm has operated in the local market for more than two decades and has recently expanded through acquisition, further strengthening its presence and service capability across the region. The Role
In this role, you will take ownership of a portfolio of SME and individual clients and be involved in a mix of compliance, technical and client-facing work.
Responsibilities will include:
- Preparing financial statements, income tax returns, BAS, FBT and payroll tax obligations
- Managing end-to-end accounting and taxation work across a diverse client base
- Supporting tax planning and advising on business structures
- Monitoring workflow, managing WIP and contributing to team and personal KPI outcomes
- Building strong client relationships with a commercial and value-add mindset
- Mentoring junior team members and supporting overall team performance
- Working across cloud-based systems, including Xero Practice Manager and FYI Docs
- Keeping up to date with relevant tax legislation, including Div 7A, FBT and GST matters
What You'll Bring
- 4+ years of experience in Australian public practice accounting
- CA or CPA qualification
- Strong technical accounting and tax capability across business services work
- Confidence in managing client relationships and handling work with a degree of autonomy
- A proactive, team-oriented approach
- Good working knowledge of cloud-based accounting software, particularly Xero
- The ability to support junior staff and contribute positively to team culture
