We are urgently seeking GMC Specialty Registered Consultant Dermatologists to support an NHS project delivering Adult General Dermatology (non-urgent) services at Scotland NHS Trust. This is a time-sensitive requirement, and we would welcome expressions of interest as soon as possible.

  • Start Dates: ASAP
  • Location: Scotland – Will give more specific location once spoken over the phone.
  • Frequency: Tuesday – Friday & Weekends (ongoing opportunity)
  • Capacity: Up to 7 clinic rooms available each weekend
  • Patient Group: Adult General Dermatology – routine, non-urgent patients (e.g. inflammatory dermatoses or benign/non-cancerous skin lesions; no suspected cancer cases)
  • Working hours: 08:00 – 18:00

Clinical Activity

  • Full pathway outpatient clinics
  • New patient face-to-face assessments
  • Diagnostic tests and/or digital imaging as required
  • Follow-up appointments through to discharge
  • Surgery: Diagnostic biopsies/excisions only, if clinically indicated (unlikely to involve lesion work)

Where “see and treat” occurs on the same day, two consultant activity lines can be added (outpatient + surgical template). If biopsies/excisions are not known in advance, this may be recorded as an additional one hour at zero charge/pay.

Clinic Templates

  • Template Size: 24 patients (20-minute appointments with built-in admin time)

Team Configuration

  • Clinic: Consultant Dermatologist, Nurse, HCSW
  • Excisions/Biopsies: Consultant Dermatologist, 2 Nurses
  • Nurse support available for bloods if required

Eligibility Requirements

  • GMC Specialty Registered Consultant Dermatologist
  • Minimum 12 months’ experience working in the UK at Consultant level
  • Able to deliver a complete patient pathway from assessment to discharge

Rates

  • £1650, per day plus accommodation provided, or £1800 per day (consultant to arrange own accommodation)
