As a Business Development Representative for the DACH region, you will play a critical part in driving the company’s growth by generating and nurturing sales leads for our unified, cloud-based platform focused on Human Risk Management and comprehensive email security. The Mimecast product suite protects organizations against phishing, ransomware, and impersonation while providing data archiving, continuity, and employee training to reduce insider threats. As a BDR, you will be the first point of contact for potential customers, responsible for high-volume outreach to qualify leads and create new business opportunities. You will work closely with Marketing, Channel, and Sales teams, as well as reseller partners, to uncover opportunities and fuel our sales pipeline.

What You’ll Do:

  • Outbound Prospecting: Conduct cold calls and send outbound emails to identify and qualify potential leads.
  • Lead Generation: Identify and qualify potential business opportunities through strategic outreach, through cold calling but also through email campaigns, and social media engagement.
  • Lead Qualification: Follow-up on marketing-generated leads to assess fit and potential for Mimecast products.
  • Partner Collaboration: Work with reseller partners to identify and generate joint opportunities.
  • Target Account Profiling: Research and profile target accounts to identify key decision-makers, stakeholders, and potential pain points.
  • Pitching: Articulate Mimecast’s value proposition in a clear and compelling way, secure meetings, and handoff to the wider sales team.
  • Pipeline Management: Maintain a robust pipeline of qualified leads and ensure accurate tracking of all activities, interactions, and prospect details in the CRM system.
  • Prospect Engagement: Conduct initial needs analysis to understand prospect requirements, pain points, and business challenges, ensuring alignment with the company’s solutions.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Account Executives, marketing teams, and reseller partners to ensure seamless transition of qualified leads, alignment on strategic initiatives, and joint opportunity generation.
  • Market Research: Stay informed about industry trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs to effectively position the company’s solutions and refine outreach strategies.
  • Appointment Setting: Schedule qualified meetings with the appropriate sales representatives or Account Executives (AEs) to progress opportunities.
  • Continuous Learning: Attend training sessions, stay updated on product developments, and refine skills to enhance prospecting effectiveness.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Previous Experience: Experience in tele-sales, business development, or outbound prospecting is a plus, though not required.
  • Language skills: Fluency in English & German is required.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively engage potential customers and articulate value propositions.
  • Sales-Driven Mindset: A motivated self-starter with a desire to exceed targets and grow your sales career.

The on-target earnings (OTE) range for this position is £40,000−£66,000 (OTE) plus benefits. This range represents the minimum and maximum new hire compensation for this role. The position may also be eligible for incentive plans and additional benefits, in accordance with company policy and local regulations. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location with individual compensation also dependent on factors such as qualifications, experience, and skills. Final offers will reflect these considerations and may vary accordingly.
