Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced finance professional to join Mimecast on a fixed‑term basis as Financial Controller (Maternity Cover).
This senior role has broad ownership across our EMEA entities, encompassing US GAAP management reporting, statutory audit, tax collaboration, and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Ownership of monthly management reporting under US GAAP.
- Lead month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close processes across a number of EMEA entities, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
- Oversee reconciliations for all balance sheet items and conduct meaningful variance analysis on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
- Review and challenge complex calculations and items prepared by junior team members.
- Supervise statutory audits and prepare financial statements under IFRS for UK and other EMEA entities, including oversight of complex audit items.
- Prepare payroll‑related returns such as PAYE, Settlement Agreement (PSA) and employment‑related securities returns, and oversee payroll accruals and journals.
- Collaborate with tax teams to ensure visibility of transfer pricing changes and timely reporting of corporation tax returns.
- Implement best practices within the Finance department and drive process improvement initiatives.
- Provide guidance and mentoring to more junior members of the team.
- Support other duties as requested by senior Finance leadership, including coverage during periods of high workloads and absences.
- What You’ll Bring
- ACA, ACCA, or CIMA professional accounting qualification.
- 5+ years of post‑qualified experience within industry and proven Finance Controller experience.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS.
- Experience with multi‑currency reporting.
