In this role, you will lead multi-disciplinary project teams and oversee the full lifecycle of smart facility initiatives from defining build specifications and driving cost-effective planning, through to delivery, vendor management and operational integration. You will own critical path management, ensuring projects are executed on time while meeting engineering standards, sustainability goals, and business objectives. The ideal candidate brings together strategic vision and hands-on execution, with the ability to simplify complexity, adapt to change, and align cross-functional teams. In this role, you will collaborate closely with senior stakeholders, internal engineering teams, and external partners while serving as the central point of budget and P&L accountability for scaling smart building technologies, facility optimisation, and IoT-driven solutions acrossthe region.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of large-scale engineering and IOT based smart facility projects, including feasibility, design, installation, commissioning, and operational handover.
- Manage critical path activities, dive deep on technical details and provide innovative solutions to resolve issues.
- Own the regional digital architecture for smart-facility platforms (IoT, BMS, cloud), embedding cybersecurity, data integrity and governance by design.
- Champion sustainability and compliance, embedding energy efficiency and carbon reduction into all project deliverables.
- Hold accountability for multi-million-pound budgets, vendor governance and delivery performance across EMEA.
- Lead and align cross-functional, multi-regional teams, vendors, and contractors, conducting structured progress reviews to meet cost, quality, safety, and sustainability objectives.
- Guide technical design reviews and drive the adoption of IoT-based solutions for energy management and facility optimisation, ensuring alignment with business priorities and global best practices.
- Define equipment specifications and influence procurement strategies, ensuring reliable, cost-effective and sustainable systems are selected and deployed at scale.
- The position is remote based with travel to locations in Europe and occasionally to international sites.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCERequired
- Bachelors degree in related engineering discipline, accredited by Engineering Council.
- Proven program and project management experience within large organisations, delivering feasibility
- studies, design, and deployment of engineering and smart building solutions in complex, global environments.
- Demonstrated experience leading multi-disciplinary project teams and managing engineering contractors in operational settings, with accountability for safety, quality, and compliance.
- Strong background in smart facilities, IoT solutions, building automation, and energy optimisation.
- Hands-on expertise in deploying Building Management Systems (BMS) with LoRaWAN integration, delivering measurable gains in energy efficiency and sustainability.
- Flexibility and ability to travel across Europe and occasionally to international sites.
Preferred
- Masters degree in related engineering discipline, accredited by Engineering Council.
- Membership to applicable engineering institution; ASHRAE/CIBSE, USGBC/BRE, IET, AEE
- Professional engineering licensure such as PE or CEng
- Practical leadership qualification (ILM Level 5 or above), with a proven ability to inspire and lead cross-functional teams, managing both internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Experience in scoping, designing, and delivering hardware-focused IoT projects, leveraging AWS services and cloud platforms for scalable solutions.
- Recognised problem solver and communicator, with excellent written and verbal skills, capable of driving cross-functional process improvements.
- Demonstrated influencing and stakeholder management skills, connecting strategy, organisational priorities, and project execution into a unified roadmap.
