Responsibilities:
- Sethigh expectations which inspire, motivate and challenge pupils.
- Establishproductive working relationships with students acting as a role model.
- Respond tostudents’ general queries and keep students on task in the teacher’s absence.
- To carry outregistration where a tutor is missing.
- To follow theschool reading/tutor programme when covering during tutor time.
- Provide objectiveand accurate feedback to the teacher on the conduct of the lesson includingkeeping appropriate records as agreed with the teacher.
- Ensure, as far aspossible, that students comply with the instructions left by the usual classteacher.
- Promote positivevalues, attitudes and good student behaviour, dealing promptly with conflictand incidents in line with established policy and encourage students to takeresponsibility for their own behaviour.
- Make appropriateuse of equipment and resources.
- Comply with lessonplans and instructions from the class teacher.
- Be aware of andcomply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, equalopportunities, health and safety and security, confidentiality and dataprotection, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person.
- In line with theoperational needs of the school, undertake other duties (e.g. supervisingexaminations) when needed.
- Participate intraining and continuing professional development.
- Attend relevantschool meetings as required
- Maintain anawareness of school, national and statutory policies and requirements and applythese in the workplace.
- Managebehaviour effectively to ensure a good and safe learning environment.
- Make apositive contribution to the wider life and ethos of the school by:
