Although there is no typical day for a learning support assistant (LSA), the role will usually involve working within a classroom and on a 1:1 basis to support pupils with special educational needs (SEND), adapting activities, encouraging positive behaviour and helping to maintain a calm learning environment.
What we are looking for:
- A proactive, energetic, and committed individual who can engage pupils and inspire confidence.
- Calm, patient, and sensitive, with the ability to comfort children when needed.
- A positive attitude and enthusiasm for creating a supportive learning environment.
- Experience working with autistic children, social communication barriers, and complex needs is desirable but not essential.
Contract details:
- Hours: 13 hours and 20 minutes per week, four mornings per week, term time only (flexibility on which days of the week)
- Contract: Fixed term until 31 August 2026 with the potential to be extended (dependent on funding)
- Pay: £8,054.21 - £8,859.53 (E3 if unqualified, E4 if level 3 relevant qualification)
- Start Date: as soon as possible
- Interview: 5 March 2026
- Working 1:1 and group work within KS1 in our vibrant, inclusive school.
