We are recruiting a part‐time after school club assistant to support the delivery of a safe, engaging, and inclusive after school provision for children aged 4–11. This role is ideal for candidates seeking school support staff jobs, education assistant roles, or childcare work within a primary school setting.
Working closely within the afterschool club and wider school team, you will help create a positive environment where children feel safe, supported, and motivated outside of normal school hours.
Location: Locking Primary School
Hours: 12 hours 30 minutes per week
Working pattern: Monday to Friday, 3:15pm – 5:45pm, term time only
Interview date: 15 June 2026
Key Responsibilities
- Support the planning and delivery of after‐school activities and creative play
- Supervise children and ensure a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment
- Collect pupils from classrooms and assist with snacks and drinks
- Set up, pack away, and safely store play equipment and resources
- Maintain positive relationships with children, parents, carers, and staff
- Support accurate attendance and departure records
- Report any safeguarding, behaviour, or health and safety concerns in line with school policy
- Follow all school, trust, safeguarding, GDPR, and child protection procedures
