# Community Learning MK –Tutor## Job IntroductionCommunity Learning MK (CLMK) is our Adult Learning Service which has been serving the educational needs of adults in Milton Keynes for more than 30 years. Our aim is to provide purposeful and inspirational education to empower people to live a better life. We offer a range of opportunities that develop and improve individuals and communities with high quality learning to ensure a fair, hardworking and more equal Milton Keynes for all. We’re seeking a full-time ESOL Tutor to plan and deliver ESOL courses to adults with low levels of English for our upcoming three year project \’English for Life: Empowering Women through Language in Milton Keynes\’. We’re based at a dedicated Learning Centre in Central Library, although we offer courses in centres around the city so you may be required to work in a variety of locations. CLMK Adult Learning is a Good Provider as rated by Ofsted and Matrix. An enhanced/barred list DBS check is required for this role.**This is a site-based role****Interviews for this role will be held w/c 12 January**Milton Keynes City Council is a modern and friendly place to work. Find out more about working with us here:### Main Responsibility* Plan and deliver education to adults, teaching and learning using approved planning tools e.g., scheme of work, session plan, individual learning plans, and practitioner reviews.* Apply the full range of teaching/learning and assessment strategies in the delivery of courses to meet the needs of the community and the targets set by the organisation.* Collaborate with the Curriculum Managers and other professional colleagues to develop and implement all quality assurance arrangements and contribute to the Self-Assessment Report and Quality Improvement Plan.* Maintain accurate and timely records to comply with funding rules and Ofsted quality requirements.* Work to comply, promote and contribute to all practises and policies including Health and Safety, Safeguarding, Prevent, on-line safety, and Equality and Diversity.* Commit to the ETF Professional Standards for Teachers including adhering to the principles and practice of Continuous Professional Development.### The Ideal Candidate* You’ll be educated to at least Level 3 Award in Education and Training and have a level 5 CELTA with a minimum of two years’ experience teaching adults.* You will possess a passion for empowering and enabling learners to achieve their full potential.* A natural collaborator, you will enjoy teaching and working as part of a dynamic team.* Able to get about, ideally with a driving license, although this is not compulsory.* Flexible – you might be asked to work in another place and asked to teach at short notice.* Should you be offered the role, as part of the pre-employment checks an Enhanced DBS will be actioned for you (unless you are on the DBS Update Service.### Package DescriptionIn addition to your salary, we offer a range of benefits including:* Great holiday benefits – most roles include 28 days annual leave every year on top of public (bank) holidays, increasing to 32 days after five years.
