The HR team plays a vital role in supporting the city council’s workforce through expert advice, strategic guidance, and collaborative working.The team manages a wide range of employee relations matters with a strong emphasis on employment legislation, policy, and best practice. Find out more about working with us here:### Main Responsibility* As a HR Advisor, you’ll be the first point of contact for our managers and colleagues.* You’ll provide HR advice across a range of employee relations matters including absence, disciplinary, grievance, underperformance, and terms and conditions.* You’ll work closely with managers to provide timely, risk-assessed recommendations underpinned by policy, best practice, and employment legislation.* Lead on updating and creating policies and procedures, and creating and delivering HR training for managers, improving managerial capability across the organisation* This is a fantastic opportunity to join a collaborative and supportive HR team where you’ll be empowered to make a real impact and help shape the future of our workforce.### The Ideal Candidate* Demonstrable experience of managing employee relations casework from start to finish.* Possesses strong knowledge of employment legislation and its practical application.* Can work at pace and manage high volumes of work effectively ensuring attention to detail is maintained.* You will be a confident communicator, able to coach and influence managers at all levels across the organisation and have the ability to form good working relationships.* You will be a natural self-starter with a strong work ethic and a desire to grow professionally.* Ideally you will have (or are working towards) CIPD Level 5 or equivalent.### Package DescriptionIn addition to your salary, we offer a range of benefits including:* Great holiday benefits – most roles include 28 days annual leave every year on top of public (bank) holidays, increasing to 32 days after five years.
