Milton Keynes City Council is seeking local families to provide foster care for children within our community.
By fostering, you’ll help children stay close to their schools, friends and family, providing them with stability and familiarity. Right now, too many of our young people are placed outside Milton Keynes, far from everything they know. Help us change that.

We offer full support to guide you through every step of your fostering journey. Whether you’re new to fostering or an experienced carer, we ensure you have the resources and guidance you need to succeed.
What We Offer
- Financial Support: Foster carers receive weekly, tax-free payments based on experience and the number of children in their care.
- New Foster Carers: Earn between £347 and £436 per week (equivalent to £18,044 – £22,672 per year) for caring for one child.
- Experienced Carers: Those with prior fostering or significant childcare experience can earn between £393 and £482 per week (equivalent to £20,436 – £25,064 per year).
- Multiple Children: If you care for more than one child, your earnings will increase. For example, fostering two children could bring in a minimum of £694 per week (equivalent to £36,088 per year).
- Steady Income: As a local authority we continually have children in need, so you’ll have a consistent meaningful income.
