Children\’s Services Family Centres have a great opportunity for a Support Assistant to join their business support hub.
You’ll work as part of a small team in conjunction with the wider business support service to deliver effective and professional reception service to our Family Centres.
This is a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same. Whilst you’ll work as part of a team, you will also need to work effectively on your own.
This role is site-based covering two or more Family Centres. An enhanced DBS check is required.

Main Responsibility
- Provide reception support, managing all telephone contact into the service, greeting visitors into the building and ensuring all health and safety requirements are adhered to.
- Maintain confidential records and filing, both manual and electronic, to ensure efficient and effective storage and retrieval of information, in line with agreed timescales.
- Ensure that purchase orders and sales invoices are processed. This may also involve monitoring petty cash accounts.
- Assist in organising meetings and events including, venue booking, issue of invites, reports/meeting resources and taking notes using standard format.
- Provide support for other centres and carry out ad hoc tasks as expected within the role as required.
The Ideal Candidate
- NVQ level 2 in administration or equivalent.
- Experience of working within a receptionist/administration position.
- Good understanding and experience of using computer applications, particularly Microsoft Office programmes.
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to the ability to get the most out of all interactions with our service users
For this role, the candidate is required to have a full UK driving licence, along with access to a vehicle. Evidence of the driving licence and vehicle insurance with business insurance will be required from the candidate should they be offered this position. Without this documentation the candidate will not be appointable.
Should you be offered the role, as part of the pre-employment checks an Enhanced DBS will be actioned for you (unless you are on the DBS Update Service).
