Wellbeing Cancer Dietitian
Department: Cancer Services
Band 7 £47,810 – £54,710 per annum pro rata
Part‑time 15 hours per week; this role is part of a job share with a 0.6 WTE Wellbeing Cancer Dietitian.

Responsibilities
- To provide a Nutrition and Dietetic Service for cancer patients, working across both outpatient and inpatient settings; part of the Multidisciplinary Team to provide a highly specialised nutrition service to service users with a variety of tumour types at MKUH in accordance with local and national guidelines.
- To take a lead role in the nutritional management of patients referred to the Cancer Services.
- To take a major role in the advanced assessment and treatment of patients within the speciality who may have a highly complex presentation.
- To determine dietetic treatment indicated for patients within the speciality.
- To act as a source of knowledge and skill in the field of dietetics for cancer patients and their families and carers.
- To act as a clinical resource to other dietitians and health and social care professionals that are working with cancer patients that have a complex presentation.
Clinical
- To undertake the comprehensive assessment of patients, including those with a highly complex presentation/multi‑pathologies; use advanced clinical reasoning skills and manual assessment techniques to provide an accurate diagnosis of their condition.
Professional
- To maintain own continuing professional development (CPD) by keeping abreast of any new trends and developments, and incorporate them as necessary into your work.
Organisational
- To be responsible for the supervision and coordination of junior staff, students and assistants as required.
