Specialist Radiographer-CT/MRI

Overview

As a vital team member, you will contribute to delivering a proactive, first-class diagnostic service, ensuring exceptional patient care aligned with the Trust\’s core values, whilst upholding high clinical standards. You will assist with training for junior staff and learners, and support team leaders. Our department currently trains students from the University of Hertfordshire and apprentice radiographers studying at the University of Exeter.

To work a rotation through the MRI and CT departments conducting cross-sectional examinations using a range of MRI and CT equipment on various patient types; both as an autonomous practitioner and as part of a multi-professional team, in a manner that meets profession, departmental and legal standards and requirements.

To proactively assist in the management of the MRI and CT scanning departments on a daily basis whilst fostering a safe and efficient environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

Ensure patient safety is maintained and patient experience is positive by treating all patients, relatives and colleagues with respect, dignity, and courtesy in accordance with Trust values.

Responsibilities

• Rotate through the MRI and CT departments, performing cross-sectional examinations on a range of patient types using MRI and CT equipment, both autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Assist with training for junior staff and learners and support the team leaders.
• Help manage the MRI and CT scanning departments daily to foster a safe and efficient environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
• Maintain patient safety and ensure a positive patient experience by treating patients, relatives and colleagues with respect, dignity and courtesy.
• Demonstrate flexibility in approach to work while keeping patients at the forefront of practice.

Qualifications

• Essential qualifications include excellent communication and organisational skills.
• A dedication to Continuous Professional Development (CPD).
• Practical knowledge of radiation protection, legislation, and health and safety requirements.
