Patient Pathway Co-Ordinator

Department:Paediatrics

Band: 4,£27,485 – £30,162 Per annum, pro rata

Hours: Part time, 33 hours per week, all MKUH roles will be considered for flexible working

Paediatrics are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Patient Pathway Coordinator to join our friendly and dynamic team.

We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

If successful, you will be part of a supportive and learning environment that encourages personal development. Ideally, you will have experience working in the NHS and be adept in customer service skills. Additionally, you will be motivated and committed to continual improvement of patient services and will demonstrate excellent communication and team working skills.

To provide an administrative support to the Paediatric service and our patients. You will be responsible for ensuring the highest standard of work is undertaken to ensure patients are seen in a timely manner, in the right place by the right person.

You will have responsibility for the patient tracking waiting list (outpatient waiting list), validating and ensuring accuracy.

The postholder will have direct contact with families, providing them with information and support. You will work as part of a high functioning, effective team, supporting consultants and clinicians as well as team members.

You will need to be proficient in organisational skills, communication, working on your own initiative, be empathetic and proactive.

Supporting clinical and operational teams to deliver an efficient and effective outpatient service.

Acting as senior administration support for designated clinicians, interfacing between other relevant teams to resolve issues and coordinate patient pathways.

Acting as point of contact for patients who have queries in relation to their pathway, require clinic input etc. Ensuring their query is dealt with accordingly and responded to swiftly. This may include conveying complex information and ensuring that the outcome is understood.

Setting up outpatient clinics inclusive of booking / cancelling rooms and assisting operational teams with clinic template arrangements.

Communicating effectively with stakeholders, using negotiation skills to achieve the desired outcome.
