You will work collaboratively with the Education Manager and wider education and prison teams to promote, facilitate, and support access to higher level learning programmes that maximises engagement and progression. This is a historically successful role that has allowed many learners to gain level 3 and degree level qualifications to support employment options on release. A key element to the role is the management of the course application process which is based on Open University and Prison Education Trust funded course options. Th ideal candidate will therefore possess excellent communication and organisation skills to effectively manage prisoner applications as well as deal professionally with both prison and outside organisation administration.

Part of the role is to promote higher level learning options within the prison and assess applications based on prisoner suitability and ability to engage on these courses. There will also be regular periods where course materials will be sent by post and electronically for learners to complete assignments etc. You will therefore require excellent IT skills and experience of supporting learners and their needs through the coordination and management of all these elements to the role.
