Job description

Milton Keynes College have an exciting opportunity for an Occasional Support Worker to join our Prison Education team at HMP Elmley. The core duties would include covering for our administration, inclusion practitioner or induction roles as required.

As an Administrator, you will be a capable and experienced administrator with excellent verbal and written communication skills. You will provide a high-quality service to both internal and external stakeholders at the prison and the wider College team.

As a successful Inclusion Practitioner, you will conduct one to one SANs plans with learners who have been identified as requiring additional support. You will save and share the plans with appropriate stakeholders including teachers in our education department to provide advice and guidance on how to support offenders through learning and work opportunities withing the prison.

In the induction role, you will support learners to complete initial assessments in English, maths, Digital Skills, Do-it profilers, Reading and ESOL as required and record and share these details with stakeholders as appropriate. You will share details of what is on offer to residents across the education department and prison.

This opportunity involves supporting the Department Manager in the day‑to‑day learning facilitating and administration operations of the department. Your ability to work on your own initiative is critical for this role and you will need to have a flexible and resilient approach to your work as it will be varied.
