Overview

MK College Group has an exciting new opportunity for an Art Lecturer to join the Education Team at HMP Lewes. The role involves delivering Art and Creative classes to diverse learners, helping them develop creative skills, confidence and personal progress that apply across their education.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging Art classes for diverse prison learners, average class size 10 students per 2.5‑hour session.
  • Adapt lessons to be innovative, imaginative and responsive to the learners’ needs.
  • Motivate and inspire learners, fostering confidence, personal progress and a positive learning experience.
  • Assist learners in developing qualifications and skills that support employment during custody and upon release, contributing to reducing re‑offending.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication and motivational skills.
  • Experience or passion for arts and education, preferably in challenging or diverse settings.
  • Ability to design adaptable lesson plans and manage small group sessions.
