Workplace Trainer: Bricklaying and Groundworks
Are you passionate about your trade/industry and looking to do something different?
Do you think you could teach, but don’t want to be based in a classroom Monday – Friday?
Milton Keynes College is seeking a Workplace Trainer with strong multi-skilled construction expertise to join our Apprenticeship Construction team.
As a Workplace Trainer, your role will be dynamic, varied and highly rewarding - working with employers, apprentices and the college curriculum teams. You will have some autonomy with your diary, with the expectation of certain days/times on campus delivering face to face lessons, appointments to be scheduled with employers at their workplace and some working from home also supported.
Workplace trainers are assigned a caseload of apprentices to train and assess throughout the evolution of their apprenticeship. Our apprentices’ journey runs all year round, therefore you are able to take your annual leave at any time of the year.
We are looking for enthusiastic and skilled Bricklayers and Groundworkers to motivate and inspire learners to develop their skills and enable progression into their chosen careers. No previous teaching experience? Don’t let this put you off… If you are a passionate person with the capacity to become a great teacher we can provide the training to help you achieve your full potential, just as we expect you to be able to help our students achieve theirs.
Perhaps you have experience coaching or mentoring and an interest/background in Construction topics, there are elements of the students learning journey that would benefit from this skillset, such as progress reviews, setting targets, supporting the students to meet the requirements of their chosen pathway.
You will work collaboratively with the Apprenticeship Construction delivery team to support and develop apprenticeship programmes. Due to the requirements of the apprenticeship standards, applicants must hold a relevant Level 2 qualification or above and be able to demonstrate current industrial competence and significant technical experience within the construction sector. This is an excellent opportunity for an industry professional who is passionate about developing the next generation of skilled tradespeople.
