Our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) team supports children and young people with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), ensuring they receive the right support at the right time. As a SEND EHC Assessment and Review Officer, you'll manage statutory assessments and reviews for children and young people, working closely with families, schools and professionals. You'll play a vital role in shaping high-quality EHCPs that meet individual needs and help us deliver on our commitment to inclusion and equality.
Responsibilities
- Manage statutory assessments and reviews for children and young people within your caseload, ensuring compliance with legal timeframes.
- Accurately manage top-up and EHC funding to maximise impact and support effective resource use.
- Liaise with colleagues to maintain accurate data and ensure timely placements.
- Facilitate and record co-production meetings and annual reviews, ensuring high-quality EHCPs.
- Keep up to date with SEND legislation and communicate processes clearly to stakeholders.
- Support colleagues across the team during peak periods and contribute to service improvement.
Qualifications and Requirements

- NVQ Level 3 in business administration or a relevant professional field, with knowledge of SEND principles and legislation.
- Experience in an educational or local government setting.
- Strong ICT skills, including Word, Excel and Capita ONE.

- Resilience and flexibility to adapt to the changing SEND landscape.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle. Proof of licence and vehicle insurance, including business use cover, is required for appointment confirmation.
- Enhanced DBS check will be arranged as part of the pre-employment process (unless already registered with the DBS Update Service).
