We’re recruiting a Principal Planning Officer to join our Development Management service at Milton Keynes City Council. Your professional judgement will help shape how Milton Keynes continues to grow as a modern, inclusive city.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the assessment of detailed development proposals to secure affordable housing, infrastructure and wider community benefits.
- Analyse social, environmental and economic impacts, ensuring sustainable development across the city.
- Work on significant planning applications that directly support the delivery of Plan: MK and the emerging Milton Keynes City Plan.
- Collaborate with experienced colleagues to ensure development proposals contribute positively to the city as a great place to live and work.
Benefits & Contract
- £4,000 per annum market supplement (until March 2027, then subject to review).
- Home‑based role possible following assessment, requiring a minimum of one day per week in the office or site.
- Two opportunities: one permanent position and one 1‑year fixed‑term contract.
