We’re recruiting Care Assistants to join our Supported Housing for Older People service at Milton Keynes City Council. In this rewarding role, you’ll support older people to live with dignity, independence and choice. This may include supporting people living with dementia or complex health needs.

Our Adult Services team supports some of the most vulnerable people in our community, providing essential care as part of a 24/7 service. As a Care Assistant, you’ll help make a real difference each day by delivering person-centred care, building positive relationships, and working closely with colleagues, families and other professionals.

Working Hours & Shift Pattern

  • Full time and part time positions available.
  • Site-based role.
  • Two‑week rolling rota, Monday to Sunday.
  • Early shifts (e.g., starting around 7am and finishing mid‑afternoon).
  • Late shifts (e.g., starting mid‑afternoon and finishing in the evening).
  • Days may include split or extended cover where both early and late shifts are needed.
  • Regular rest days (R) built into the rota to support work‑life balance.

Role Responsibilities

  • Provide care and support to older residents, including those with dementia or complex health needs.
  • Assist with daily personal care, medication administration and assistance with meals.
  • Support residents to maintain independence and dignity.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with residents, families and other professionals.
  • Participate in the 24/7 adult services team service provision.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Care experience is welcome but not essential.
  • Compassionate approach and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work flexible hours across a two‑week rota.
  • Strong communication skills and teamwork.
