Role Description

This is a full‑time, on‑site Corporate Tax Manager role based in Bristol. There may be an opportunity for hybrid working, once well established. The Corporate Tax Manager will manage a portfolio of corporate clients, overseeing tax compliance, reviewing corporate tax returns, and ensuring accurate and timely filings. The role involves advising clients on tax planning opportunities, corporate structuring, and the tax implications of transactions, while monitoring legislative changes and updating clients accordingly. The successful candidate will review work prepared by junior team members, provide coaching and technical guidance, and support the development of best practices within the tax team. The Corporate Tax Manager will also collaborate closely with audit and advisory colleagues, contribute to business development activities, and help maintain strong, long‑term client relationships.

Qualifications

  • Strong technical expertise in OMB and larger group corporate tax, with the ability to interpret and apply current legislation and guidance.
  • Proven experience in tax compliance for corporate clients, including reviewing complex returns and managing filing deadlines.
  • Demonstrated capability in Tax Planning for companies, including advising on structuring, transactions, and risk management.
  • Professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, or CTA (or equivalent), with suitable post‑qualification experience in a corporate tax role.
  • Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem‑solving skills, with strong attention to detail and accuracy under time pressure.
  • Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax matters to non‑specialists and build trusted client relationships.
  • Experience supervising and mentoring junior team members, including reviewing work and providing constructive feedback.
  • Proficiency with tax and accounting software and strong general IT skills.
