We’re searching for a dynamic, driven, caring, and empathetic person to join us as a Host at Milsom House in St Athan, Vale of Glamorgan. About the Role
- Position: Breakfast Assistant
- Location: St Athan, Vale of Glamorgan
- Employment Type: Permanent full-time
- Salary: £13.00 per hour
- Start Date: As soon as possible
Core Functions
- To do everything possible to ensure the comfort and dignity of the resident and his/her family or friends, and to relate with kindness, courtesy and sympathy to all concerned at all times.
- To assist the resident to offer hospitality to their guests.
- To deliver meals wherever the resident may wish to take them, attractively served, at the correct temperature, and in a manner to encourage appetite.
- To deliver meals in support of the care plan as set and reassessed by the Home Manager and GP at appropriate intervals.
- To ensure a continuous supply of water and cold drinks in clean and appropriate receptacles.
- To serve meals to residents in a manner appropriate to that resident’s needs.
- To report any perceived changes in resident’s condition, including their appetite, ability to eat and diet, to the Senior Nurse on duty.
- Basic preparation and service of food, light snacks and refreshments where appropriate in accordance with food hygiene regulations.
- Laying and clearing of table and trays.
- Washing dishes and equipment where appropriate in accordance with food hygiene regulations.
- To maintain the kitchen and areas where food is stored in accordance with hygiene standards imposed by environmental health regulations and other relevant statutory bodies which may apply to Milsom House.
- To report any faulty equipment to the administrator.
- To maintain any records that are required of them in a clear and legible fashion in accordance with procedures laid down by Milsom House management.
- To maintain confidentiality of information regarding patients and residents at all times.
- To participate in supervision and continuous personal development through training, supervision and appraisal as identified by the Home Manager.
Qualifications
- You will be required to maintain a manual handling certificate. Training will be provided.
- Relevant experience, education, or certificates welcome; however, full training will be provided.
