Are you a skilled Service Engineer seeking an exciting opportunity to ensure the smooth running and maintenance of plant and equipment within a thriving Services Department? Our client are a leading company in the food industry, dedicated to innovation and delivering exceptional results. Key Accountabilities:

  • Maintain and repair a wide range of machinery and equipment, including gas boilers, steam autoclaves and lines, lifts, waste effluent plant, compressed air systems, domestic water systems, and cooling towers.
  • Perform mechanical and electrical repairs and preventative maintenance, proactively identifying key equipment requiring attention.
  • Participate in projects assigned by the Engineering Department, showcasing your expertise and contributing to ongoing improvements.
  • Respond promptly to breakdowns, ensuring efficient and effective resolution.
  • Foster strong collaboration with the engineering team and establish excellent communication and feedback channels with the production department.
  • Champion a safety culture within the factory, adhering to health and safety requirements, safe systems of work, and relevant legislation.

Candidate Attributes:

  • Time served in a factory services environment or relevant workplace experience.
  • Strong fault finding and testing skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently.
  • BOAS or equivalent training in boiler operations, with experience working with steam boilers.
  • Familiarity with boiler water treatment and water softening plant is desirable.
  • Experience in preparing for non-destructive testing (NDT) of pressure vessels.
  • Knowledge of steam supplies and ancillary equipment, including pipe fitting skills.
  • Experience in working with compressed air supplies and ancillary equipment, including pipe fitting skills.
  • Plumbing skills aligned with maintenance duties and control of Legionella.
  • Desirable experience with traction and hydraulic lifts.
  • Capability to use workshop machines is advantageous.
  • Possession of an electrical qualification such as NVQ2 or 18th Edition certification.

Hours:

  • Monday to Thursday: 7:30 am to 4:00 pm
  • Friday: 7:30 am to 3:00 pm

Package:

  • Competitive salary of up to £32,000, depending on experience.
  • Generous holiday allowance of 32 days per year, inclusive of bank holidays
  • Pension scheme to support your financial future.
