About us: Established in 1885, Millwall Football Club is one of the most famous football clubs in England. Currently competing in the EFL Championship, they play their home games at The Den, which is based in South Bermondsey, and has been the home of the Club since 1994.

Role Overview:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part time foundation phase coach to join Millwall Football Academy. The successful candidate will work with our U10s players, supporting the Head Coach and Lead Phase Coach in delivering the How We Play, Coach & Support strategies of Millwall Football Academy.

The primary focus of the U10s assistant coach will be to support the head and lead phase coach in planning, delivering and reviewing U10s training and matchdays, contribute to the development and review of players individual development plans, whilst maintaining accurate player records on the Millwall Intelligence Platform known as Kitman labs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Uphold and demonstrate the values, standards & behaviours expected by Millwall Football Club, inside & outside of training and matchdays for our Foundation Phase players
  • Support the U10s Head Coach and Lead Phase Coach in planning, delivering, and reviewing training sessions and matchdays
  • Contribute to the development and review of individual player development plans.
  • Maintain accurate player records on the Millwall Intelligence Platform
  • Attend and contribute to department, multi-disciplinary, and academy depth chart meetings
  • Participate in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) sessions as part of Millwall\'s Coach Development Plan
  • Report any safeguarding or welfare concerns on our MyConcern reporting system

Essential Requirements / Qualifications:

  • Minimum of UEFA B Licence
  • Experience in coaching academy foundation phase players
  • Demonstrates professionalism and high standards in creating, implementing & reviewing individual player development plans, recording evidence, and providing feedback to players, parents and line managers
  • Knowledge and understanding of the requirements of foundation phase coaching and development principles
  • Effective communication skills to deliver and support key messages, and sustain positive working relationships with the wider multidisciplinary team and U11s players
  • Display attributes that align with the values of the academy: Attitude – Selfless – Positive– Integrity – Respect – Excellence
  • Resilient, self-aware and open to sharing information from a safeguarding perspective

Desired Requirements / Qualifications:

  • Relevant experience within other EPPP environments
  • Advanced Youth Award
  • Knowledge and understanding of EPPP requirements
  • Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team
