Responsible to: Head of Academy Sports Science and Medicine
Hours of work: No fixed hours. Shifts arranged subject to availability, including Monday‑Thursday evening sessions (16:30–19:00) and weekend matchdays.
ATTENTION: Applicants must be willing to work at least 2 Sundays per month.
Responsibilities
- Provide emergency first aid cover during training and matchday.
- Conduct clinical assessment of youth‑injured players U9s‑U16s prior to games.
- Keep detailed and accurate records of injuries and treatments and upload them on the Football Intelligence Platform.
- Maintain constant communication with coaches, sports scientists and parents regarding players’ injury and availability.
- Liaise with full‑time academy medical members to update player rehabilitation progress.
- Attend and participate in in‑house CPD sessions.
- Promote the safeguarding and welfare of children within the academy.

Requirements
- Chartered physiotherapist, sports therapy or sport rehabilitator degree.
- Basic Life Support or any first‑aid qualification is essential.
- Driving licence.
- IT literacy skills.
Desirable Requirements
- Valid safeguarding certification.
- Experience of working in professional sport with an adolescent population.
- Understanding of the EPPP requirements.
- FA ATMMiF (Level 5), FA ITMMiF (Level 4) or equivalent first‑aid qualification.
