The Player Care Officer is responsible for supporting the welfare, wellbeing,
development, and day-to-day needs of players.
The role ensures players receive
high-quality pastoral care, helping them perform at their best both on and off the
field while promoting a safe, inclusive, and professional environment.
- K E Y R E S P O N S I B I L I T I E S
- Player Care & Welfare
- Act as a primary point of support for new signings and established players
regarding off-field welfare needs, with a high degree of empathy,
professionalism, and discretion. - Liaise with local estate agents to arrange property viewings for new players
and build a maintained database of estate agent contacts and properties. - Book and manage hotel accommodation for new signings and players
requiring temporary housing. - Identify and negotiate hotel partnerships to secure preferential rates for the
Club. - Arrange tuition and educational support for new players where required.
- Provide hands-on relocation and settlement support to players joining the
Club, ensuring a positive and smooth transition. - Organise and coordinate player appearances in conjunction with relevant
departments this will also include Club open training days held at the Den. - Coordinate signing sessions at the Training Ground and facilitate merchandise
signing on behalf of players. - Attend and support pre-season training camps, both in the UK and overseas.
- Assist players with relocation, accommodation, transport, schooling, vias,
utilities, NI numbers and settling into the club/organisation. - Support players transitioning into the organisation.
- Coordinate educational, personal development, and life-skills programmes.
- Help players balance sporting, educational, and personal commitments.
- Matchday Operations — First Team & U21s
- Work on First Team matchdays at The Den, covering the Players' Entrance and
the Player Family Room, with flexibility to support across match operations as
required. - Manage and administer Player Matchday Tickets and Lounge Passes for all
home fixtures including manage tickets for away games. - Produce U21 QR codes for digital matchday team sheets for U21 fixtures
- Coordinate U21 matchday scout replies and guest lists, ensuring accuracy and
timely communication. - Assist in the management of U21 trialists, ensuring all medical documentation is
completed in conjunction with medical staff, and confirming player
registration ahead of fixtures. - Maintain and update a trialist database for the Head of Training Ground
Operations, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records at all times. - Assist in confirming U21 games with opposition clubs and match officials as well
as internal staff. - Liaise with Academy staff regarding guest lists for Academy fixtures at the
weekend. - Safeguarding & Mental Health
- Act as joint Designated Safeguarding Officer (DSO) for the Training Ground as
well as a Mental Health Ambassador, alongside the Head of Training Ground
Operations. - Promote and maintain a strong safeguarding and mental health culture within
the training ground environment. - Ensure safeguarding policies and measures are consistently implemented and
adhered to by all staff and visitors. - Escalate any safeguarding concerns promptly and appropriately to the Club
Safeguarding Officer. - Maintain up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding legislation, best practice, and

Essential
- Strong Previous experience in a sports club, stadium, or similar fast-paced
operational environment. - Strong administrative and organisational skills, with the ability to manage a
varied and high-volume workload to tight deadlines. - Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to
engage confidently with players, staff, and external partners at all levels. - Proficient in Microsoft Office, in particular Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Experience in a player care, welfare, or customer-facing support capacity.
- Demonstrated ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and
matchdays as required. - High levels of personal discretion and professionalism, particularly in respect of
player and Club confidentiality. - A proactive, self-starting approach with the ability to work independently and
use initiative.

- Experience working within a professional football club or elite sporting
environment. - Knowledge of safeguarding legislation and best practice, or willingness to
undertake training to Designated Safeguarding Officer level. - Experience of travel booking, logistics coordination, or fleet management.
