Milltown Partners advises technology companies driving change, global investors funding the future, giants of sport and entertainment, and influential individuals on communications and policy challenges that define their reputations. Our work spans corporate and financial communications, policy and public affairs to engage regulators and policymakers, policy communications, and leadership communications. We underpin our capabilities with research-driven insights and campaigns, and we're pioneering AI-enhanced advisory work for both clients and internal innovation.
The role is mid-level – Consultant and Senior Consultant – and both roles sit at the driving force of our client work. You'll advise directly, set strategy, manage teams, and take ownership of outcomes that genuinely move the dial for influential organizations in technology, investment, and beyond. The distinction between the two levels is one of autonomy and authority: Consultants work closely with project leadership to set direction and execute; Senior Consultants operate with greater independence, interrogate briefs more deeply, and are expected to push the quality of our work without being asked.
What you'll do:
- Shape communications strategy: Draw on deep knowledge of channels and audiences to position clients and tell their story, translating technical, scientific, or regulatory subject matter into narratives that resonate with both specialist and non-technical communities.
- Advise clients: Earn the trust of a range of clients and deliver recommendations that are understood and acted on. Produce compelling written content and drive significant communications moments.
- Drive and deliver client work: Manage the work of junior colleagues, create clear project plans, delegate effectively, and ensure work is delivered to a high standard.
- Use AI to drive better outcomes: Regularly use AI tools to improve the quality and efficiency of deliverables.
- Contribute to the business: Apply understanding of the commercial context in which clients operate, contribute to internal projects, and spot growth and development opportunities.
- Build a collaborative environment: Give and receive feedback regularly, actively seek input from colleagues, and contribute to an inclusive environment.
What we’re looking for:
- Essential: 3–7 years of communications experience, ideally in a consultancy environment, with exposure to technology clients.
- Strong written and editorial skills.
- Experience building advisory relationships with senior stakeholders.
- Experience developing media strategies and working with journalists.
- Experience using AI tools effectively in a professional setting.
- Project management experience.
- Collaborative instincts and a commitment to contributing to an inclusive culture.
Desirable:
- Experience in frontier technology, AI or investor communications.
- Experience in research, policy, developer relations, or technical content.
Why join us: We are an independent, employee-owned firm, sharing in our collective success. Our culture is built on five values: brilliance, restlessness, comradeship, inclusivity, and integrity. We offer competitive pay, bonuses, professional development opportunities, private healthcare, mental health support, 26 days holiday plus public holidays, and a hybrid working model. We are serious about building a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace.
