Millthorpe School is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team as Cover Manager and School Administrator. You will ensure that the lessons of absent teachers are covered effectively and efficiently by planning and organising the schedule for cover lessons, utilising internal and external supply staff as appropriate. The role also includes undertaking a range of administrative and reception duties as required.
We are looking for someone highly organised, self‑motivated, solution focused and who welcomes the opportunity to use their initiative. You will be approachable, have strong IT skills and will have experience of managing and maintaining accurate records.
The successful candidate will be adaptable, flexible and able to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders, including students, parents/families, staff and external agencies as required. You will have experience of working in an administrative role and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Experience of dealing with adults and/or children face‑to‑face would be an advantage. Although experience of working in a school is desirable, what is more important is your genuine passion for working in a child‑centred environment, ensuring pupils’ needs are always put first.
In order to make cover arrangements in good time for the school day, you would be required to start work by 6.45am each day. The trust will be undertaking a job evaluation exercise in the near future and, therefore, the grade for this position may change.
